She is best known for her paranormal and fantasy novels. She graduated from Arizona State University with an MA in English, and when she’s not researching for her next novel, Ren enjoys creating book covers, finding new stories to read, and spending time with her family.

Her novel, BEREFT, the first book in The Bereft Series, won a 2016 Watty Award, while the sequels BEREFT: DEMISE and BEREFT: IGNITE were voted Best Fantasy in the 2017 and 2018 Fiction Awards, respectively. Her novel SERPENT HEART won a 2019 Watty Award, and her novel ALL THINGS DEVOUR was short-listed for a Watty Award in 2022.
